| 内容記述 | Akita University created a new course titled "Theories in Inclusive Education" as a requisite in the Department of School Education in FY2014. A paper-based questionnaire survey was conducted on the students who are not in the Course for Special Needs Education Teachers (students in general education) but took the course, both at the start and the end of the course. Comparison of findings at the start and at the end shows a rise in knowledge and interest in disabilities and persons with disabilities and in learning incentive regarding these subjects. Motivation to acquire teaching certificate for a special needs education schools also grew. Furthermore, results suggest that the course achieved a measure of success in realizing its goals of imparting greater understanding of the distinctive features of disabilities and support required, cultivating awareness toward development of an "inclusive society" and increasing understanding toward inclusive education and special needs education. Regarding the course improvement and issues that require actions, the needs were found in building understanding toward disabilities with greater sense of reality, attention to prevent creating fixed perceptions, enrichment of support chiefly in development problems in concrete terms, analytic assessment and review of the course content, approach to be taken toward acquisition of a teaching certificate, and follow-up surveys. |
