| 内容記述 | 本研究は戦前日本の市設教育研究所として独自な存在であった仙台市教育研究所の1937年から1942年の廃止にいたるまでの事業内容を解明することを目的としている.1936年創設時の主たる目的は,仙台市の実情と子どもの発達の科学的研究に基づいて教育計画を立案することにあった.初代所長である及川平治は,就任以来,1939年に亡くなるまでこの目的の実現に努め,地方の特色を無視した国の教育計画と対峙していた.一方,二代目所長の津田信雄は国の進める国民学校体制の実現と,戦時統制が強まる中での愛国心の育成とに重点を置いた研究活動を行っていた.即ち,及川と津田とを境に,研究所は市の教育内容にかかわる事項を調査研究し,地域に立脚した教育を指導する機関から,文部省の国民学校の伝達講習的機関へと性格が変わったのであり,それが研究所廃止の原因の一端となったのである. | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Sendai Educational Research Institute was a vanguard for other local educational institutes in prewar Japan. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the research activities of the Sendai Educational Research Institute from 1937 to 1942. The aim of the Institute at its establishment was to make an educational plan based on the scientific research of educational environment and childrens development in Sendai. Heiji OIKAWA, the first director of the Institute, pursued this aim and confronted the national educational plan that disregarded locality until he died in 1939. On the other hand, Nobuo TSUDA, the second director of the Institute, faithfully dealt with the national plan of elementary school and promoted patriotic spirits among children in wartime. Under the first director, the Institute was a research center for studying the local educational matters and an organization to implement locally characterized education. Under the second director, however, it became an agency to foster the national elementary school system governed by the Ministry of Education. Thus, the change of the director from OIKAWA to TSUDA brought to the functional transformation of the Institute, which led to the abolishment of the Institute. | |||||||||
