| 内容記述 | From 2011 to 2022, there was a decrease of 20,227 elementary and junior high school students and 88 schools in Akita Prefecture. As the birth rate continues to decline, it is necessary to consider: 1) what size and placement of elementary and junior high schools is optimal and 2) how to create attractive schools in the future, based on the region’s actual situation. Based on my experience as a Board of Education member and administrator of integrated elementary and junior high schools, this paper summarizes the current situation of school consolidation and reorganization in Akita Prefecture. I also discuss the management of integrated elementary and junior high schools in response to the declining birth rate and the impact of school consolidation from the perspective of school administration. | |||||||||||||
