内容記述 This article aims to reveal the influences of international marriages on Taiwanese education both at school and at home. Since the year of 2000, the number of female spouses from Mainland China and South Eastern Asian countries has been increasing. The number of their children has been also increasing. The Taiwanese government hence set up lots of educational supportive programs to help these international marriages and their families. In the early period, Taiwanese had lots of negative images toward those foreign spouses, who were not capable to help their children with their homework, while and their own mother langue and cultures were suppressed. However, some investigations revealed that they actively managed to help their children with their homework and to discipline them at home. As for their mother language, they were rarely allowed to speak it. In fact, they themselves also agreed with the family members on such language situation, and they felt no need to pass on their language and cultures to their own children in Taiwan. However, The Taiwanese government integrated their mother languages and cultures into a curriculum of “New Immigrant Language” of Taiwanese compulsory education. This article focuses not only on how this “New Immigrant Language” has been set up but also on the influences of the curriculum and its related courses to the Taiwanese society.
