| 内容記述 | The language use of Modern Japanese is subject to variation, and how the language will change from now on requires our attention. This paper deals with the following three themes: (1) variation in the orthography of foreign loan words, (2) the differentiation between the use of foreign loan words and that of native and Sino-Japanese words, and (3) grammatical errors and grammaticalization, and seeks to clarify the current issues found in each of them. To that end, first, the realities of such variation in language use as observed in daily life is investigated based on linguistic data from publications, newspapers and online articles, etc. These variations are classified by type according to their characteristics while referring to existing research. Next, a questionnaire survey is carried out regarding language use in (1) to (3), and, by gaining an understanding of the how language use varies in each generation, an analysis is made of the backgrounds against which these variations occur, and the predicted future trends. | |||||||||
