The present investigation was undertaken in order to see a characteristic of the ground vibration in Hachirδgata, Akita Prefecture, as an example. The relation between the underground structure and the period distribution curves of microtremor at the ground surface in Hachirδgata was obtained by means of the measurement of microtremor. This relation coincided clearly with some examples of other soft grounds. The microtremor was measured at the embankment which was damaged by Akita Earthquake of May 7. 1964 and Niigata Earthquake of June 16，1964. The fact shows that the embankment has the same relation as that found about the ground. |
