内容記述 | This paper aims to discuss the significance of children's play as a special form of learning, especially on the two aspects of cognitive and social development. Firstly, it was discussed that children would acquire a variety of numerical concepts not by being taught by their teachers but through their play with their peers or adults. Some case studies were shown to reveal how they become to understand numeracy through concrete experiences that were related to numerical understanding. Secondly, it was indicated that children would learn how to adjust themselves to a society after experiencing psychological conflicts during their play. It was discussed that children's unlimited experiences in their spontaneous play would be more important than merely teaching children formal concepts or rules in educational setting. | |||||
