| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to consider coastal regional division in Japan by the distribution of main places of fisheries' headquarters and fish-landing ports. This study uses principal component analysis for summarization of regional statistics and cluster analysis for classification of places. Main fisheries' headquarters are identified as 193 places with fish-catch more than 2500 million yen in 2003,or with fishermen more than 500 person in 2003 (Table 2). Main fisheries' headquarters' places are classified into nine groups (Table 5). Main fish-landing ports are identified as 123 places with landed sum more than 2500 million yen , or with landed quantity more than 10 thousand ton (Table 6). Main fish-landing places are classified into nine groups (Table 9).Based on the nine groups of headquarters' places and the nine groups of landing places,the coast in Japan can be divided into ten fishing-industries' areas as follows (Figure 5). ( 1) The Okhotsk Coastal Area( II) The East and the South of Hokkaido Coastal Area(III) The West Coastal Area of Hokkaido and Northern Japan(N) The Sanriku Coastal Area(V) The Southern Sanriku - Joban Coastal Area(VI) The Tokai Coastal Area(V) The Hokuriku - Eastern Sariin Coastal Area(VII) The lnland Sea Coastal Area(IX) The Western San'in ・Saikai Coastal Area(X) The Nankai Coastal Area. Several large fishing ports are respectively located on border zones of main fishing-industries' areas. | |||||||||
