Physical restraint is not only problematic from the point of view of human rights : there is also the danger of fundamentally damaging an elderly persons QOL (quality of life), but physical restraint has not been abolished from geriatric care. As students expressed an interest in the many issues surrounding physical restraint and it was felt important that they developed their individual ideas on the subject, we organised a debate. When we investigated the educational effectiveness based on student evaluations, we found that the students were more able to listen to the opinions of others and had a greater awareness of physical restraint in geriatric nursing.}, pages = {50--57}, title = {老年看護学における教育方法の検討 : ディベートの教育効果について}, volume = {13}, year = {2005} }
