Forty preschoolers from 4 to 6 years old participated in experiment 1, and twenty-four in experiment 2. The results were as follows: 1. Preschool children have an understanding of germs as a cause of illness. 2. A video recording which visually demonstrated the existence of germs and explained the necessity of hand-washing was effective.},
