内容記述 | The idea of using a type of field study had already been practiced in the pre-war era. It was developed during the post-war era, and it is now being implemented as part of a national curriculum, which was introduced in 1998, in an attempt to teach learners how to learn. The present paper is a report of the research, of which data were gathered at one of the teacher training courses that were offered in 2003. During the courses, the issue of field study was dealt with as part of the teaching how to learn program. The various problems that came up during the courses are analyzed, summarized and solutions are suggested in this report. It was found that the field study tended to be dealt with in the course of comprehensive study rather than in the social studies courses. The paper suggests that the field study best be taught in combination with the two courses rather than in either one of them. | |||||||||
