| 内容記述 | Nowadays, many Japanese conductors are active on the international stage. Many of them have studied with Saito's conducting method. Therefore, it can be said that the Japanese method of teaching conducting is superior in the world. However, this achievement should not be considered as a sudden appearance after the war, because Japan had already begun basic research on conducting methods for use in school music education since the late 19th century. It was mainly basic conducting figures and conducting techniques for school songs. On the other hand, Information on the basic techniques and knowledge of orchestral conducting in prewar Japan is still unknown. In this context, the author found a lecture notebook on orchestral conducting written before the war. From this notebook, I was able to discover the basic techniques and knowledge of orchestral conducting. It was found that the notes contained a lot of practical information that was not included in the existing publications. However, the content of this lecture was difficult to understand without learning the basics of conducting in Japan at that time, because it was necessary to understand some conducting techniques named in the Saito Method. Therefore, it is likely that the post-war Japanese conducting method is the result of continuous development from the pre-war period. | |||||||||
