The survey results showed that the students had some characteristic responses. The students showed higher natural hazard risk awareness towards tsunamis, earthquakes, cliff failures and volcanic eruptions, in descending order of awareness. Awareness of tsunami hazard risk was higher near the coastal areas. Awareness of volcanic eruption hazard risk was higher near Mt. Chokai, which is one of the active volcanoes in the prefecture.
