The Maxwell's equation for the magnetic field B of the Neutral Kaon Spectrometer NKS set at the tagged photon channel of Stretcher-Booster of Laboratory of Nuclear Science, Tohoku University, has been analyzed to obtain the horizontal component of B using the measured vertical component data. Numerical line integrals for vertical components B_r and B_φ in the cylindrical coordinates have been carried out successfully. It has been found that the magnitude of B_r has amount of about 0.4T at the outside area near the pole edge which is comparable with the value 0.5T of vertical component B_z at the central region of the magnetic field. It has been found that the horizontal components do not seriously affect the motion of charged particles of more than 100MeV/c, whereas trajectories of some particles with less than 100MeV/c may largely affected when they pass near the edge of the pole face of the dipole magnet. |
