We review a result given by Andrew K.Jobbings in The Mathematical Gazette 95(2011). His result is "Suppose that the diameters of two touching semicircles are parallel chords of a circle. Then the sum of the areas of the semicircles is half the area of the circle." We comment on it from viewpoint of mathematics curricula in Japanese junior and senior high school. We think the result is a good teaching material.},
