The program has two aims: ⑴ to equip elementary school teachers with the license of teaching English as a compulsory subject at junior high schools; and ⑵ to help them to prepare for teaching English as a subject to elementary school students under the recently-revised course of study, which was announced at the end of fiscal 2016. After giving a brief explanation of the program, we describe the objectives we set in our courses and how we implemented them.
