In the wake of these closures, 4222 former school buildings remain. Seventy percent of them are used as community centers and sports facilities. There are no plans for the use of the remaining 30%. Moreover, the status of use of the sites of the nearly 500 buildings that were demolished was not studied in the survey conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
