Its “way” is greatly influenced by the\ndesigner’s subjectivity. However, “design representation” is premised on “designing”, which requires objectivity.\nThus, securing the “appropriateness” of the design is very important. Typically, “appropriateness” is ensured by\nplanning the design concept. This requires that the design process be based on a problem-solving model. There\nmay be some differences of opinion as to what content should be “evidence”, how the evidence manifests itself in\nthe design process, etc. Further clarification of the “evidence” is required for a comprehensive scientific\nperspective. This article discusses several possibilities to validate workable ways in order to ensure the\n“appropriateness” of design representation. We apply the “EBD” and utilize “expression knowledge (as expression\nbasis)”—that is, the already-known modeling knowledge which is codified in the “Kosei(Science of Art and\nDesign)”.
