The purpose of this study was to explore what can be done for individuals who require\naid in disaster situations by gaining an understanding of the sense of insecurity with regard large-scale\ndisasters and the factors that affect the feeling of insecurity among individuals with stroke sequela. The\nstudy population included 55 out-patients with stroke sequela. A questionnaire survey was made to\ninvestigate their state of insecurity in regard to disasters, their knowledge on disaster management, and\nthe state of social support. The subjects who were found to have greater knowledge on disaster\nmanagement demonstrated less insecurity. The subjects who had rich social support tended to acquire rich\na great deal of information. In contrast, the subjects who had poor social support tended to acquire less\ninformation about disasters or to not to try to gather information.
