This paper reports the reform and the current state of the public education system in Germany. Hauptschule that was the feature of a typical three divergence type disappeared in the northern area (Berlin City and Hamburg state, etc.). And, a new integrated school appears. It is the especially appearance of Integrierte Sekundarschule. On the other hand, Hauptschule exists still in the southern area (Baden Wurtenberg state etc.). So, the public education system is three typical divergence type by Hauptschule, Realschule, and Gymnasium. Thus, the movement of the reform for the public education system is remarkable in the northern area, while the reform is late in the southern area. Compared with the public education system for Berlin City, it can be said that the public education system for Bayern state is three divergence type even if Hauptschule doesn't exist, and has the reform still during transition. |
