教科書説明文は児童の河川砂成因認識に影響を与えうるのか明らかにするために、秋田県内の5年生および6年生児童を対象に2種の質問紙調査を行ったところ、以下のことが明らかになった。「流水の働き」を学習前の5年生児童は、河川砂の成因について多様な素朴理論を持っていた。理科教科書から抽出した流水の働きについて2種の説明文のいずれかを読ませた後の反応は、説明文の内容によって異なった。砂の成因については記されていないが、児童が有する素朴理論と表面的に共通するような記述が説明文中に見いだせる場合、その記述と一致する砂の成因説を児童の多くは支持した。一方。礫の粒径変化について記述した説明文を読んだ場合、上記の反応に加え、礫の粒径変化プロセスを砂の形成プロセスに適用するような理論を児童は採用した。6年生児童の多くは、これらのような説明文を読んでも認識は変化しなかったが、礫の粒径変化プロセスを砂の形成プロセスに適用する児童が一部に見られた。本調査結果は、｢流水の働き｣における礫の変化についての教科書の記述が、砂の形成についての素朴理論を強化したり、不適切な理論を誘導したりする可能性があることを示唆している。 |

The authors carried out the questionnaire survey to primary school students to find whether description on running water process in textbooks can affect students' cognition about formation of sands in alluvial deposits in a river．We found that the 5th grade students before studying running water process can be affected by description on size change of gravels by running water. Hence, some 6th grade students changed their cognition of sand formation theory when the statements related to change of gravels would be acceptable by the students. |
