A total of 500 nurses responded to questionnaires. Forty percent of the nurses worked in an outpatient chemotherapy center. About 60 to 70％ of nurses had used PPE. About 30％ of nurses who had used PPE when caring of toilet used it properly. About 50％ of nurses who had used PPE when changing a diaper had used it properly. About 10％ of nurses who had used PPE when disposing the urine from patients who had an indwelling catheter used it correctly. About 50％ of nurses who had used PPE when disposing of the excretion from a stoma used it properly. Therefore, the PPE was not used correctly in a larger percentage of cases. However, the data suggested that Certified Nurses in Cancer Chemotherapy Nursing were more likely to use PPE correctly than other nurses when changing a diaper or disposing of the urine from patients with an indwelling catheter.
