The subjects consisted of 215 stroke patients who had been admitted to the convalescent ward. The patients were divided into two groups consisting of those with or without any divergence in their walking ability and the activities of daily living. Clinical data, such as the physical functions, brain functions, the abilities to perform tasks and the activities of daily living were all obtained from their medical records. Based on these identified factors, we performed a regression analysis to determine any dependent variables in the degree of divergence. A total of 99 patients (46％) were discharged with some divergence in the walking ability and the activities of daily living. Social cognition in FIM and “motor of age” were extracted as determinate s in the degree of divergence.
