In Survey 1, a questionnaire survey on health checkups and musculoskeletal examinations at schools was conducted on 377 school nurses in Prefecture A. Examination for scoliosis was performed during health checkups at schools by 70％ of school doctors, but examination of bones and joints in the limbs was performed by less than 40％ of school doctors. In Survey 2, we investigated the awareness of 174 school nurses who participated in a school nurse workshop in Prefecture A following the implementation of lectures on musculoskeletal disorders and musculoskeletal examinations. It was an opportunity to recognize the significance and necessity of musculoskeletal examinations through gaining knowledge about the characteristics of the musculoskeletal system during development and musculoskeletal impairment.
