Schoolchildren with developmental disorders who had attended normal classes and who were excluded from the special support program in the past must now be given appropriate support. In the drive to upgrade support to these children, efforts to make use of the functions of special support schools as a center of special education and the itinerate support provided by professional teams are being carried out throughout the country. However, these teachers of special support schools and specialists usually have no experience in such school consultation of providing the support requested by schools, and thus do so through trial and error. Aiming to enhance school consultation, in this study a questionnaire survey consisting of open-ended questions was conducted on those who have provided itinerate support to elementary, junior and senior high schools before, asking them to describe freely the difficulties and challenges faced in their experience. The responses were organized with the KJ method. As a result, the difficulties met were found to be “awareness and attitude of school authorities”, “ideal support”, and “parental support\". The expertise required could also be into ‘‘coordination ability'', ‘‘consultation ability“, and “views on support and basic attitude\".
