| 内容記述 | The present study aims to investigate correlations in mastication ability/food preferences of parents who prepare meals at home and their children to confirm if there is any relationship between them. The results indicated no significant correlations among children's habit, behavior, and ability in mastication, nor in their food preferences. In contrast, parents showed weak negative correlations among their habit, behavior, and ability of mastication, as well as their food preferences. In addition, parents' behavior and ability in mastication and their food preferences exhibited weak positive correlations. Correlations between children and parents in terms of their habit, behavior, and ability in mastication and food preferences were also investigated; as a result, a strong positive correlation was observed between children's mastication ability and parents' mastication ability. Furthermore, children's mastication ability exhibited strong positive correlations with all items in their parents' habit, behavior, and ability in mastication, and food preferences. The study results demonstrated correlations between parents and children in mastication ability and food preferences. Therefore, the results suggested that providing parents first with dietary education to enhance mastication ability is essential to promote dietary education for their children in improving their mastication ability. | |||||||||
