Analytical consistency of rock-forming minerals between SEM-EDX installed at Faculty of Education and Human Studies and WD-EPMA at Faculty of Engineering and Resource Science were examined. When WD-EPMA data of natural minerals were used as standard materials, analytical results of EDX-SEM were consistent with that of WD-EPMA, whereas SEM-EDX analyses with pure-material standards produced small analytical differences. The consistency was confirmed for olivine, plagioclase, and pyroxenes, and their consequent stoichiometric coefficients were accurate. |
