We examined the value of the current classification by analyzing retrospectively stumbles and falls experienced from 2004 to 2009. To transfer the incidents from the old classification into the current one, we examined the details of incidents in 2004 and 2005 thoroughly and reclassified them into the new levels. Where there was ambiguity in the old classification, incidents without health aftereffects despite performance of disinfection and hemorrhage control, were classified to the old\nlevel 2 (No aftereffects even though errors needing treatment occurred), not to the old level 3 (No aftereffects, or quick recovery even though errors needing treatment, observation, and examination occurred).
