This research study examined into the current conditions of children with developmental disorders who are not mental retardation and enrolled in special support schools. The objectives of this research are the following two: 1) Identification of the causes and reasons that underlie the enrollment of children with developmental disorders who are not mental retardation in special support schools. 2) Identification of the difficulties the special support schools face in dealing with the behavior of such children and the problems in instruction and guidance of such children. This study findings showed that these children were transferred to or enrolled in these schools due to various secondary emotional disorders, such as learning difficulties and non-attendance at school. In addition, these children exhibited behavioral problems such as verbal and physical violence at school, causing adverse effects on other students and on teachers. It was found that teachers in charge of these children face serious difficulties in dealing with and providing support to them. |
