The purpose of this study was to clarify issues relating to rehabilitation, and to discuss problems for future cooperation. It is estimated that there are approximately 250,000 people with a disability in Laos,7-1O% of the total population. Amputation caused by unexploded bombs and mines was reported as one of the most cemncnly accuring of disabilities in Laos. There were serious problem at village level, which were a shortage of experts such as doctors and physical therapists, and the difficulty of acess to villagers for rehabilitation services. The Japan International Cooperation Agency dispatched a physical therapist as a Senior Volunteer to the College of Health Technology, a three-year system, in order to cooperate in constructing a curriculum for a four-year system. Furthermore a physical therapist was dispatched to the National Medical Rehabilitation Center as Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. Community Based Rehabilitation would be needed to develop rehabilitation in villages. Therefore, we consider that the teaching of Community Based Rehabilitation to local physical therapists would be necessary in future.}, pages = {79--86}, title = {ラオス人民民主共和国におけるリハビリテーションの現状 理学療法士による国際協力の現場から-}, volume = {10}, year = {2002} }
