This data was compared with that obtained from thirteen cancer patients\nunder the age of 65 (control group). Among nine patients in the aged group, underlying disorders were\nconfirmed in eight cases with a total of twenty diseases. Four out of nine observed moderately deteriorated\ndegree of ADL pre-operatively. All cases in aged group could discharge hospital, however, of the postoperative\ncomplications, six out of nine suffered from mental confusion. On the contrary, in the control group,\none out of thirteen experienced mental confusion. With colon cancer patients over the age of 80, surgical\nintervention can be adopted safely.
