| 内容記述 | The porpose of this study was intended to investigate Akita educational society as puropulsive part for school gymnastics and sports in Akita in the later Meiji era. Akita educational society was established in june 1888 which had aims to improve and progress the education in Akita. That activities were spreading school gymnastics, holding public lectures, educational courses for teachers, sewing course and publiching the organ. That pioneerd always educations in Akita prefecture. Theories of school gymnastics and sports were spreaded through the organ" Journal of Akita educational society". T. Sakurada's gymnastics theory was a concept that meand education of physical, but he valued it more important in total education that intellectual, moral learning. Gymnastics for women was promoted at same time by the special committee. In conclusion, school gymnastics in Akita in the later Meiji era was not enough taked shap. |
