内容記述 When we read Surveillance and Purnischment whose author is Michel Foucault (one of the most famous post-modern philosophers), we can't but be shocked. Because he insists that the socialization of human beings means only process through which the inner lives of individuals are disciplined craftly.
Moreover, according to him, school is one of the most representative systems for such disciplin. Is the proposition 'Self-realization of individual is equal with ideal socialization' only fantasy today?
In this paper I inquire this question of J. G. Fichte's philosophy. In his earlier philosophy, he
adovocates that we should make efforts endlessly in order to realize our absolute freedom by ourselves.
And he supposes appeal (Aufforderung) which is caused by others as the indispensable condition to do so. In short, Fichte's earlier philosophy is not only ethical anthropology, in which the value of human
freedom is emphasized ardently, but also social theory. On the contrary, in his later philosophy, he is convinced that the absolute exists in the foundation of human existence, and that ideal way of life is
to live its own life intently as a reflection (Bild) of the absolute. But in spite of such structural change of his thought, the conviction 'autonomy of individual is directly linked to the construction of ideal society' persists firmly.
If we cofront such Fichte's thought with Foucault's polemic against classical framework of pedagogical thinking, we can still give support to the former. Because CD it attachs importance to individual
performance, @ it refuses easy totalization, (in these viewpoints Foucault would agree with Fichte), and CID it presents positively the goal of Building-up-Humanity. CFoucault can't indicate it clearly and it would be serious fault, when some educational theory should be thought out on the strength of his philosophy.) I'm sure that the importance of Fichte's philosophy still remains even
after post-modern philosophy declares the invalidity of the paradigms presented by classical philosophy.
