中学生の自然災害認識の実態：秋田県におけるアンケート調査から Cognition of Natural Hazards by Junior High School Students Based on Questionnaire Survey Results from Akita Prefecture, Northeast Japan 高橋, 杏一 川村, 教一 TAKAHASHI, Kyoichi KAWAMURA, Norihito 理科 小学校 中学校 地質災害 気象災害 science class elementary school junior high school geohazard weather hazard 筆者らは，秋田県内（中央部および内陸南部）の中学1年生を対象に自然災害の認識に関する質問紙調査を2019年1 ～ 2 月に実施した．この結果，以下のことが明らかになった．・認識されている自然災害リスクは回答の多い方から順に，津波，地震，火山，がけくずれ・土砂くずれである．・津波災害リスクの認識は，海岸に近い中学校の生徒ほど高い．このときの海岸－中学校間の距離とは，海岸までの最短距離よりも幹線道路などを通じた海岸への移動経路の距離が関係する可能性がある．・火山災害リスクの認識は，中学校が鳥海山に近いほど高い．・小学校で得た自然災害に関する情報は，種類によって差異がみられる．・土砂災害について，がけくずれ・土砂くずれと比較して，地すべりと土石流は生徒の認識状況が低く，これは未学習のためと推察される．なお保護者もこれらの認識状況が低いことが示唆される．　以上のことを基に，津波や火山災害リスクが低いと認識している生徒への指導の工夫，小学校における自然災害教育の改善，義務教育における土砂災害理解の推進を今後の課題として提示する． A questionnaire survey related to junior high school students’ cognition of natural disasters was conducted in Akita Prefecture, northeast Japan. The survey results showed that the students had some characteristic responses. The students showed higher natural hazard risk awareness towards tsunamis, earthquakes, cliff failures and volcanic eruptions, in descending order of awareness. Awareness of tsunami hazard risk was higher near the coastal areas. Awareness of volcanic eruption hazard risk was higher near Mt. Chokai, which is one of the active volcanoes in the prefecture.
